Meet Crystal

As a community servant and activist, Crystal Lyte has fought long and hard for the values and rights of others. 

Crystal was born and raised in Ypsilanti, MI. She attended Willow Run Community Schools through high school prior to moving on to Washtenaw Community College and Eastern Michigan University, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in the English Language. 

Crystal is a proud wife and mom of two, a small business owner of C.Lyte Consullting LLC. She is also the Chair of the Eastern Washtenaw Democratic Club (EWDC), Co-Chair of the Washtenaw County Democratic Party Events Committee, Washtenaw County Black Caucus Catere,  and a member of the Michigan Works Southeast Expungement/Clean Slate Committee. Through all of this, Crystal has demonstrated her involvement and community investment in Washtenaw County! While serving 

her term as a county commissioner Crystal is one of two liaisons for the Washtenaw County Road Commission, and serves as an alternate committee member for the Michigan Works Southeast Consortium Board

As a resident of Superior Township, Crystal aims to improve the lives of its citizens by connecting with them on a personal level and advocating for the issues that matter to the community.

Crystal is eager to advocate for, learn about, and lead District 2!
